How to Use Your Easyhaler

The Easyhaler is a dry powder inhaler that releases medicine when you breathe in through the device. It’s breath-activated, which means your child must take a deep, steady breath to get the full dose.

Using it correctly is essential to make sure the medicine reaches the lungs and helps prevent asthma symptoms.

Step-by-Step Guide

Easyhaler
  1. Remove the lid
Take off the protective cover from the top of the Easyhaler
  2. Check the dose counter
Make sure there is medicine left in the inhaler before using it
  3. Shake the device gently
This helps the medicine settle evenly
  4. Click to load the dose
Hold the Easyhaler upright and press down once at the top until you hear a click. This prepares the medicine
  5. Breathe out fully (away from the device)
Empty the lungs before inhaling to help take a deep breath in
  6. Place the mouthpiece in the mouth
Ensure your child seals their lips around the mouthpiece
  7. Take a strong, deep breath in
Breathe in steadily and forcefully — this activates the device and delivers the medicine
  8. Hold the breath for up to 10 seconds
This gives time for the medicine to settle in the lungs
  9. Repeat if needed
Follow the same steps again if more than one puff is prescribed

Repeat these steps for each prescribed puff (dose).
