Professor Atul Gupta is a highly experienced Consultant Respiratory Paediatrician who provides expert care for infants, children, and young people with a wide range of breathing and lung-related conditions. His areas of expertise include asthma, chronic cough, wheezing, hay fever, allergies, recurrent chest infections, snoring, sinusitis, cystic fibrosis, lung disease, and sleep-related breathing disorders.

He is one of the few UK specialists fully accredited in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and is listed on the General Medical Council’s specialist register for both paediatrics and paediatric respiratory medicine.

Professor Gupta is known for his kind, clear, and thorough approach. He works closely with families, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, high-quality care tailored to each child’s individual needs. With over 25 years of paediatric experience, he combines deep clinical expertise with the latest research developments to deliver truly holistic, patient-centred care—focused not only on treating current symptoms but also on preventing future respiratory issues.

Alongside his clinical work, Professor Gupta is actively involved in research and medical education. He holds a Professorship at King’s College London and has lectured internationally across Europe, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and India. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications in leading medical journals, with research that has advanced understanding in areas such as steroid-resistant asthma and the role of vitamin D in lung health.

He leads several ongoing clinical studies and is a frequent invited speaker at major international respiratory conferences. His contributions to the field have been recognised with numerous prestigious awards, including the Lorber Prize and the James Fellowship.
